Dimetri V. Shirkov, theoretical physicist

I met Shirkov in 1970. He was the Nobel Visiting Professor in the Physics Dept. at Lund University, and I was the NORDITA visiting professor. He, with Bogoliubov, is one of the founders of the idea of the renormalisation group. See his article for a beautiful account of this theory.
