Irving Segal

I was the research associate of Irving Segal at MIT from Sept 1965 to Feb. or so of 1966. My second son was born during this stay. I did not have the chance to work closely with Segal, since he had at that time a research contract with a Canadian university, (Carlton, I think) which entailed his taking a plane to Canada each Thurs. lunchtime; he did not return until Tues lunch-time. During this time, he was beginning to develop his version of constructive quantum field theory.

See Baez for an appreciation of Segal.
