Bernard Kay, mathematical physicist

Bernard Kay has applied the ideas of C-* dynamics to general relativity, and has discussed the implementability of the automorphism group of time evolution, in a general background metric. His results are, on the whole, negative: the dynamics cannot be expressed in terms of a continuous one-parameter family of unitary operators. Since doing this, his thesis work, he has worked with Wald on quantum GR.
