UK-JAPAN MATHEMATICAL FORUM
Keio University, 15-20 July 2012

TRAVEL INFORMATION

The Forum will be held in the Raiosha Building on the Hiyoshi Campus of Keio University, which is situated between Tokyo and Yokohama. The nearest railway station is Hiyoshi Station on the Toyoko Line (a private line operated by Tokyu). The main entrance is adjacent to the station exit.

The easiest way to reach the Hiyoshi Campus from Narita Airport is to take the JR Narita Express train from either of the airport stations to Musashi-Kosugi. You can buy a ticket at the JR ticket office in either of the airport stations (English is spoken). It costs about 3,300 yen and you will have a reserved seat, and the journey takes about 80 minutes. From Musashi-Kosugi you have 2 options:

1) (for beginners, or those with heavy bags) Take a taxi from the "New South Gate" exit of the station. It costs about 1,000 yen and takes just a few minutes. Tell the driver to go to "Keio Daigaku Hiyoshi Campus Shomen" (Keio University Hiyoshi Campus main entrance).

2) (for those with experience of Japanese trains) Walk via the Nambu Line platforms to the Toyoko Line station (also called Musashi-Kosugi). Buy a 120 yen ticket from the ticket machines and take any train heading for Motomachi-Chukagai or for Hiyoshi (except for the "Limited Express"). The journey takes about 4 minutes.

Alternatively, you can take a limousine bus from Narita airport to Yokohama City Air Terminal, which is next to Yokohama Station. From Yokohama station take a local or express train on the Toyoko line to Hiyoshi. Please note that limited express trains do not stop at Hiyoshi Station.

Most foreign participants will stay at the Keio University guest house (adjacent to Hiyoshi Station), or at the Kawasaki International Center (the nearest station is Motosumiyoshi, which is the station between Musashi-Kosugi and Hiyoshi on the Toyoko Line; you can take a taxi from Musashi-Kosugi or travel by train to Motosumiyoshi). More information about the Kawasaki International Center (including detailed directions) can be found here: http://www.city.kawasaki.jp/sisetu_e/kokusai.htm

If your departing flight from Narita Airport is in the morning, we recommend to stay near Narita Airport on the night before your flight. A convenient option is the U City Hotel in Narita from where you can get a free shuttle bus to the airport in the morning. Please contact Martin Guest or Yoshiaki Maeda for further information.
