Chaos is a relatively new mathematical science with important and exciting applications in biology, weather forecasting, turbulence, astronomy, quantum physics, fractals, and other areas. Lectures and demonstrations will be presented by the mathematics, physics, and electronic engineering departments of King's College as well as by speakers from around Britain, including Sir Robert May-Government Chief Scientist and Head of the Office of Science and Technology, Sir Christopher Zeeman, Tim Palmer-Head of the predictability section of the European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting, and speakers from Queen Mary and Westfield College, Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, and the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, Manchester and Strathclyde.
